(Yes, this again.)
I am trying to capture output from a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150 card. However, I keep getting the following error:
ERROR: Failed to connect video capture device to renderer
File .\dshowsource\DSSource.cpp Line 1417
This post makes mention of a driver they found and installed from the Hauppauge website, which worked for this user; however, the file no longer exists there, nor can I find a copy of it elsewhere. I am using the latest driver currently available on their website.
Also, attempting to change video input source doesn't seem to do anything. Perhaps due to the above error.
VirtualDub is able to record its output, so I know the card works. (Now, if it weren't for that accursed HCW2 codec...)
I am using DScaler 4.1.19 on Win7 x64. |

Your problem is using a 64-bit operating system. I had this issue way back in the day (it was with Vista but the architectures are nearly identical so problems over there carry over to Win7).
Basically the problem is that even though the device works in 64-bit Windows, it's not actually OFFICIALLY supported, meaning software (like this) can't access the lower levels of hardware for video decoding and whatnot.
TV cards and 64-bit Windows are very unfriendly towards one another. TV cards in general seem very undersupported and the introduction of signed drivers has only made things worse.
If it's in your price range, I suggest jumping for a Sapphire VC600 USB capture device. It's easier to work with on DScaler and doesn't have any problems in Windows 7 x64.
EDIT:Never mind. I see you've already been to that thread. I'll see if I still have the .zip file on my PC.
EDIT 2: I have the driver file here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MTG497MD
However, I don't have the hcwclear program on-hand. If you still have your WinTV CD, it should be in there. Run that then follow the instructions in the thread you linked to.
Best of luck. |
