|
|
| I'm doing experiments and useing my test box to build a prototype HTPC to compair various PVR applictions. I'm wondering what exaclty the OS and hardware requirments are for DScaler 5 - I have no issues with it on my main system (Athlon 64 3200+), and yet my experiment box will not work with DScaler 5 at all. With it installed on my test box, when I try and play any videos that use DScaler 5 it simply crashes the player instantly. The system is comprised of the following: W2K pro SP4 with all the lastest patches and the lastest drivers for everything installed, Windows Media Player 7, GB-PVR, .NET 1.1 frame work, & Direct-X 9.0C. I have disabled all non-essenital, or high risk services (like remote registry editing). The system is an AMD Thunderbird 1.0Ghz with a VIA KT133 chipset (I'm aware that this chipset is known to have serious DMA issues with the onboard IDE interface), 512Mb RAM, GeForce FX5200, Promise Fastrak TX2 RAID controller, two 200gig Samsung Spin Point HD's (striped and optimized to saturate the PCI bus during read/write's), Lite-on DVD and DVD RW drives, Hauppauge PVR-150, NDC 10/100 network adapter. I realize the system is a bit short on processing power, but I think it should have "just enough" power to decode MPEG2 video's from my TV tuner with DScaler. |

| Does your Hauppauge PVR-150 work well with DScaler 5, ie, no audio/video sync problems? |
